Redon known as the “Venice of the West”, has an inland canals museum, and a 13th century St Sauveur, with notable cloister. Redon has many distinguished old houses, on its main street and in the lively area around the port.

Take your canal cruise boat from Redon and discover the enchanting beauty of Brittany, the home of Merlin. To the west, towards the Atlantic, make a stop at Malestroit to admire its wooden houses. Further on, visit the magnificent castles of Josselin (the most beautiful in Brittany) and Rohan, the castle of la Groulais in Blain. Visit Rennes, capital of the Bretagne : its parliament, its cathedral St Pierre, its Beaux‐arts museum. Go to La Gacilly, village of Yves Rocher and visit the shops and studios of 40 different craftsmen : glass‐blowers, painters, wood sculptors. Enjoy the food of the region : the famous "crepes" and pancakes and of course its cider or Muscadet. Eat well on grilled lobster or “à l’Armoricaine”, “cotriade” (stewed fish), “beurre blanc” sauce and the delicious “crêpes bretonnes”.
