The Yard is situated in Oysterhaven, one of Ireland's best known beauty spots, which is increasing in popularity with the Oysterhaven Center which offers watersports and the Walton Court Hotel, just seven miles from Kinsale and seventeen miles from Cork Airport.

There is a sense of oneness and tranquillity to be gained just by being in the space. The studios share a common sitting room with fire and TV, and there are also laundry and drying facilities. Groups find the quadrangle arrangement an idea situation, and the maximum number Cnoc Ard can accommodate is 20 people.
Facilities are available close by for windsurfing, canoeing, horseriding, clay pigeon shooting, sea angling, tennis, golf and snorkelling. The area also offers many scenic walks.
