In the heart of Languedoc, near a pretty village, near Carcassonne (medieval city, with world renowned 13th century chateau, and UNESCO world heritage Canal du Midi - you will enjoy living in a country house dating from the 17th - 19th centuries.
AIRPORTS: Carcassonne (20 mins) and Toulouse (45 mins) where car hire facilities are available. Other international airports are Montpellier (2 1/2 hours), Perpignan (2 1/2 hours), and Barcelona. There are also train services in Carcassonne connecting to TGV rail throughout France.

The rental part of the house is 200 m2 approx - roomy and comfortable for 11 people. Entry is into a huge but comfortable living room, with adjoining dining room with 17th century fireplace that opens into a fully equipped kitchen with gas 4 ring cooker, dish washer, fridge, freezer, electric oven, washing machine, microwave. To the left of the living room is the library and office, with 100s of books lining the shelves. There are 2 separate WCs on this floor.
On the 1st floor: there is a large bedroom with double bed (180x200) with ensuite bathroom (bathtub, washbasin, and WC); there are 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds (90x180) and another bedroom with 3 old single beds.
On the 2nd floor: another large bedroom with double bed (180x200) and ensuite bathoom with shower, washbasin, WC.
Swimming Pool
A short distance from the house is a large swimming pool 6m x 12.5m which is only used by yourselves. The pool is enclosed and is accessed by a gate, that has a lock with key..
For your further enjoyment the house has 2 hectares of private park with trees, and a pigeonnier.

ABOUT THE AREA
Domaine de l'Horte, is in the village of Cailhau, which has a baker in the village. Shopping can be found 2 kms away at Belveze du Razes -which is about 10km NW of Limoux and 20km SW of Carcassonne. Other wise shops are at 7 kms at Montreal, or Limoux (10 kms), or even Carcassonne (20kms).
Belveze has all the services you want including a bakery, butcher, food store, a tabac where you can buy newspapers, bank, hair salon, church, public swimming poolas well as doctor and dentist!
The Razes is a pretty hilly area close to Carcassonne, with numerous walks, and pretty villages to visit. However of course - Carcassonne is the premiere place to visit with its Medieval city crowned by a cathedral and 13th century castle - featured in many films - and centerpiece of music festivals, firework displays, and historic pageantry. Nearby too is Limoux, known for its Carnival, medieval streets, and its sparkling white wine; and a some miles further is Rennes Le Chateau - one of the mystical places featured in the Da Vinci code and Holy Blood Holy Grail.
Through the central valley of the Aude runs the UNESCO heritage masterwork - the Canal du Midi, with its lovely lines of plain trees, canal side restaurants, and picturesque boats.
Activities abound from in the area from horse riding to golf, walking and exploring, water sports, VTT mountain bike trails.
ACCESS
AIRPORTS: Carcassonne (20 mins) and Toulouse (45 mins) where car hire facilities are available. Other international airports are Montpellier (2 1/2 hours), Perpignan (2 1/2 hours), and Barcelona. There are also train services in Carcassonne connecting to TGV rail throughout France. The autoroute exit off the A61 is at Bram (10 mins) with easy road access to Carcassonne and Toulouse, and all the autoroutes of France.
