Meze, on the Etang de Thau, near Montpellier, Herault
Following the inland coast of the Etang de Thau - each fishing village -
has its jewels.
Here in Meze the beaches are empty after the hoards of tourists during July
and August. Two bathing huts stand like sentry posts on this deserted beach. The Etang de Thau, a salt water lake - is considered to be France's 2nd largest lake, and produces 13,000 tons of oysters, and 3,000 tons of mussels a year. Languedoc, South France. 6.00 pm September 20 2011.
