DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
The entire ground floor of century-old winemaker's house, renovated in a contemporary style while retaining many original features.
From the large entrance hall with original wine-press and decorated wine-vats (a sitting or play area), you have 3 double bedrooms (1 with double bed, 2 with twin beds), bathroom with shower, and a spacious living room with sofa, chairs, dining and kitchen areas.

La Roque's one-and-a-half acres of secluded terraces roll down to a private river beach - swim in the sun in the gently flowing waters, then lie in a hammock or picnic at our table under the shade of the magnificent old trees on the beach.
Down some steps from your living room you have a shaded terrace with dining table above our walled garden, planted with aloes and other Mediterranean plants. Help yourself to cherries and figs in season. Our 70 metres of river frontage are just below this.

NEARBY VILLAGE - VIEUSSAN
La Roque looks up to the beautiful medieval village of Vieussan.
It is a 2 minute walk across a fine old bridge to its relaxed café-restaurant, the Lézard Bleu, an excellent venue for light lunches, afternoon beers or dinners, and from there up the hill to the old village with its narrow streets and wonderful views.
Tennis courts, a canoe base and wine and vegetable outlets are within five minutes' walk. Bread is delivered to the house (daily in summer).
DESCRIPTION OF THE SURROUNDING AREA
Vieussan is in the middle of a stunningly beautiful section of the Gorges de l'Orb, surrounded by vineyards beneath striking mountains. Nearby are the pools of the Gorges d'Héric, Roquebrun with its Jardin Mediterranean, and a fine choice of wines.
A little further afield are historic Pézenas with its wonderful Saturday market and the fine city of Montpellier, as well as many kilometres of Mediterranean beaches.

International airports are within easy driving distance - Carcassonne (90 mins), Perpignan (85 mins), Montpellier (80 mins). There are railway stations at Beziers (40 mins) , and Montpellier with TGV connections to Paris.
