DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION The house - "Le Pin Sucré" faces onto a large courtyard of the domaine, a little distance from the main house, with its surrounding garden. To the other side of the house is wine cave where wines can be sampled and purchased. During September and October clients are welcome to watch and learn about the vendange. Larger photo - Swimming Pool The entrance doorway from the courtyard, enters into a large downstairs living dining kitchen area, which takes up the whole of the ground floor (72 m2) with a four metre high ceiling fashioned from large wood beams, and tiled floors. To the left as you enter is a large dining table to seat 8 persons, and beyond that to the back is the living area, with open corner fireplace, with sofa double bed, a couple of easy chairs, and small table. To one side is a satellite television, as well as a CD radio hi-fi system. A wood paneled door with glass insert, opens onto the terrace, with large garden beyond, that is surrounded by trees and vineyards, with views of the Canal du Midi beyond. The terrace comes fully equipped with outside furniture, including table, chairs, and sun loungers. There is a barbecue. To the left of the front entrance in the living dining kitchen area, is the long bar counter, with 4 bar stools, behind which is the kitchen area, fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, microwave, and refrigerator. The counter top is accented with decoratively old traditional tiles. Stairs go up to the upper floor, with wood floors, with a corridor off which to the immediate left is a bedroom with 3 single beds, and to the right is the master double bedroom, with views across vines towards the Canal du Midi, with en-suite bathroom with W.C., shower, wash basin, and overhead wall heater. Further along the corridor, there is a separate W.C., and a bathroom with two washbasins, bath tub with shower attachment, and overhead wall heater. Opposite the bathroom is another bedroom with 3 more single beds. At the end of the corridor is closet used for storing luggage. The single beds can be moved from one room to another if client so desires. Larger photo - Le Pin Sucré In the garden a little away from the house is a large swimming pool (13m x 8m), that is shared with the owners (a couple, who rarely use it, usually only on the weekend). A short walk from Le Pin Sucré is the Canal du Midi, perfect for picnicking, walking, cycling, or sitting out and enjoying the sunshine in a canal side garden specially created by the owners. The Domaine Canal du Midi borders Le Pain Sucré The church at Capestang	ABOUT CAPESTANG AND SURROUNDING AREA Capestang is a lively village on the Canal du Midi and is 3 minutes drive from Le Pin Sucré. At its center is the magnificent fortress church of St Etienne. Next to St Etienne, in the main square (market on Wednesday and Sunday), are a couple of lively bar cafés, as well as an excellent restaurant (the village has a least 4 restaurants). The Canal du Midi borders the top of the village, and here you will find numerous colorful canal boats moored - with many other boats cruising along the canal, and under one of the lowest bridges. Capestang also has a large supermarket, as well as all the services. Le Pin Sucré is ideally placed to explore the beauty, history and adventure of Languedoc. About 30 minutes drive to the north west is Minerve - famed Cathar village astride to river gorges with museums, restaurants, galleries, and astounding walks to take. 55 minutes to the west is Carcassonne, a magnificent medieval walled cité, a background used in many a period film. Beziers and Narbonne are 2 sizable towns that are with 30 minutes drive and provide grand cathedrals, museums, markets for the most avid shopper, shopping centers, and numerous special events, concerts, and fetes. Ten minutes further on are sandy Mediterranean beaches that seemingly stretch for miles from Cap d'Agde to Gruissan Plage. For climbers and walkers hills abound from the Minervois, boasting deep red wines, and walks amongst the garrigue, to the Corbieres with abbey and art studded villages like Lagrasse, and mountain top castles like Queribus and Peyrepertuse that defy gravity. Activities from golf to water sports abound, as well as numerous fine restaurants for dining, and exhilarating wine caves offering scintillating wines for tasting and purchasing at very reasonable prices. ACCESS International airports are within easy driving distance - Carcassonne (55 mins), Perpignan (70 mins), Montpellier (60 mins), Nimes (90 mins), Toulouse (140 mins) and Barcelona (3.5 hours). There are railway stations at Beziers (20 mins) and Narbonne (30 mins) with TGV connections to Paris.
