The village of Fanjeaux is full of pleasant surprises
Its well worth
taking the road from Carcassonne to Fanjeaux and on to Mirepoix. The
views are stupendous with vineyards, then rolling fields of sunflowers,
corn, wheat, with sightings of distant snow topped Pyrenees, and the
glorious wide open Aude valley with the Montagne Noire to the North,
Fanjeaux is a lovely village, well worth discovering - visit where
Dominic preached and saved
Cathar women from the flames, and this lovely medieval market place.
