All year round Sete offers much for the visitor - from a wide variety of restaurants offering fish just off the boat, to 7 miles of sandy beaches. There are museums with exhibits of local notorieties such as Paul Valery (poet, philosopher), and Georges-Brassens (singer - born and buried in Sete). Sete is one of those must see places in Languedoc and is within reasonable driving distance of Montpellier, Beziers, Narbonne. It is the largest fishing port in France on the Mediterranean coast.
