View of Pyrenees near Chalabre and Mirepoix
Driving from Limoux across to Chalabre the landscapes changes to more
flowing landscapes with fields of sunflowers, wheat, with grand distant
views of the Pyrenees. Of course there are areas of large rounded
hills with brush and forest - but the land is somewhat sweeter, more
open, with villages that seem hidden - with towns like Mirepoix with
its medieval center and Chalabre - a mill town in grand valleys with
marvelous views.
