For a magnificent day out - take a drive to the Gorges of Galamus, near St Paul de Fenouillet - (take the Rivesaltes exit off the Autoroute between Narbonne and Perpignan). Here take a stop at the parking place on the bend of the road, and take a walk down into the Gorge to visit the Hermitage of Saint Antoine. Then drive further on and perhaps take a dip in the cool waters of the River Agly. Still have energy? Climb the magnificent Cathar castles of Peyrepertuse and Queribus. Then on the way back take another dip - this time in the sea near Barcarès
