Enjoy a superb holiday, at this pleasant spacious one bedroom apartment, with large shared salt water swimming pool, in the village of Olonzac, with views of the Minervois hills, close to the Canal du Midi, and enjoy the delights of authentic France, with close proximity to restaurants, bars, shops.
ACCESS
Lezignan, Beziers, Narbonne, Carcassonne, all have SNCF railway stations with TGV connections to Paris, London, Barcelona. Autoroute exits are 25 minutes from the rental. International airports: Beziers/Cap d'Agde (60 mins), Carcassonne (40 mins), Perpignan(70 mins), Montpellier (90 mins), Toulouse (105 mins), Barcelona- Gerona (120 mins). Ryanair, EasyJet, Airfrance, BmiBaby, Berlinair, are just some of the airlines that go to these airports.

DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
Parking is provided for the apartment rental in a private courtyard. The apartment is very secure, as one has to enter the maison de maitre chateau before taking the central staircase for access and the apartment rental has double locking system in place. The salt water swimming pool (12.5m x 4m, depth: 1.4m) to the side of the chateau has a number of pool side chairs, and use is shared with the other apartments in the house. There is also a barbecue for renter use.

Entrance is from the central hallway, with its faux finish marble walls, of the maison de maitre chateau.

The living area has a dining table with four chairs. An original marble fireplace with large gold framed mirror above. A sofa. There is a ipod stand and good speakers.
The kitchen area has a dining breakfast counter, with 2 bar stools. It also has an electric stove, fridge, sink and washing machine.

The bedroom with king size double bed, has a small balcony looking out across the private courtyard. There is a chest of drawers and a closet.

The apartment has wifi internet access, and electric central heating. The large shared swimming pool (12.5m x 4m, depth: 1.4m) in the grounds of the house is available for renters use.

OLONZAC AND SURROUNDING AREA
Olonzac is the principal town and pivotal point of the Minervois region in Languedoc-Rousillon. The town boasts a vibrant weekly market (twice weekly during the summer), a selection of excellent restaurants, boulangeries, patisseries and café bars. Just five minutes away, on the outskirts of the town, is the Lac de Jouarres, to enjoy a swim in the lake (supervised by a life guard during summer months), have an ice-cream, meal or drink in the bar/restaurant or simply camp out for the day with ample green space.
SURROUNDING AREA
The area around Olonzac is intensively packed with vineyards and caves. Tourists are warmly welcomed at the local caves where sampling the delights of the Minervois wine (and purchasing it for a fraction of the cost at home) is encouraged.
The park offers a safe, stimulating environment, with separate areas for children of different ages, with the toddler area being rubberised.
It is a great place to meet with the locals. There is a large grassy area for play, and plenty of room to stroll around. The tennis courts are available to rent by the hour, and there is a pond with swans and ducks.
Nearby is the captivating village of Minerve straddling two deep river gorges. It was the site of a famous siege by the crusaders. The magnificent walled medieval city of Carcassonne is 30 minutes away.
You can walk, ride or boat along the 16th century Canal du Midi, eat at any of the many restaurants that line the banks or work your way through the system of locks along the canal. Nearby the towns of Narbonne and Beziers boast that “old French town” feel with many churches, cathedrals, galleries, shops and cafes.

Beach lovers will be attracted to the Mediterranean sands that lie about 40 minutes from Olonzac with miles of golden beaches and seaside resorts. Olonzac offers perfect access to the Mediterranean for all who seek the intimacy of the small French town while enjoying access to the hussle-bussle of the Mediterranean in a short car journey.
