AUDE

Dominican Hotel and Restaurant in Montreal

In Aude near Carcassonne is the Dominican Hotel and Restaurant in Montreal. It is an unpretentious, family run establishment with Pepsi and Moulu, their dogs, lazing about waiting for scraps. We just kept going back during our brief stay while house hunting - couldn't keep away from their plate de jour. The staff (mother and daughters) are so friendly and helpful. Open every day and the food is wonderful and inexpensive. A real find and worth driving out of one's way for. Ken Eaton (Jan 2002)

A la Fontaine, rue Gambetta, Capestang

Yes, I can also recommend "A la Fountaine" in Rue Gambetta, Capestang - we found the food there was as good as that in Le Provence but say 25% cheaper. Funnily enough it is by "Le Bassin Ronde", hence the name. It is run by Marylin & Stefan, who took it over earlier this year. We found they had good friendly service - it still requires tarting up a little as far as the decor is concerned, but for very good food at reasonable prices, with the friendly service thrown in, we believe that, in its class, it will be hard to beat. It is now becoming popular with the locals and that is a good sign. In the summer, I expect they will continue with the terrace at the front. We, know this restaurant well having a house just up the road for the past 12 years, and out of three lots of patrons, they are the best yet. Mike & Mavis Meehan. November 2002
Capestang is on the Canal du Midi, on the road between Beziers (nearer) and Carcassonne

HERAULT

La Chaumiere, Marseillan Plage

Hello, It was a pleasure for me to visit your web site concerning restaurants in the South of France. However, I recommand a good restaurant in Marseillan Plage. La Chaumiere is opened since 10 years now and needs to be known. Restaurant open - end of March to end of September. A.de Villecourt (Feb 2002)
