Its Sunday - and there are dark clouds and strong winds threatening the bright sunshine, in this vineyard near Gruissan. The light is special. Electric. With fresh flowers, and the nervy first steps of Spring, there is an edge in the air. Cars, and vans are found, parked off the road, where their passengers have wandered off to catch the hope of nice warm Summer ahead.
Having tasted a lovely Corbieres white sauvignon, just a half an hour before, this crassness of nature, exuberant, wild and crazy, reflects the biting but playful clarity of the wine just tasted. The stiff winds, make one swallow words, before they are born. The feeling of the earth is incessant, demanding the right to be. We are swept along. Its glorious!
