A walk in the vineyards above La Caunette, Minervois, Languedoc

Its delicious to walk in the first day of March, with the first warm breaths of the sun. To think in a few months these vines will be green and full of grapes.

In the valley there is a rather ornate well, and beyound that on the lower reaches of the hill - it is surprising to think that this once was an area of coal mines - where the mining of lignite, was a principal industry.

Apart from the vineyards, the area once was full of the sound of bleating goats, and herds of sheep.
