Carcassonne - Walking around the Cité
Its only when
walking around Carcassonne one becomes amazed by the size of the fortifications
of this magnificent town. A castle with a prominent position in the
Aude valley,
the Cité dates back to Roman times, but really came into its
own during Medieval times. The best time to visit is on Bastille Day
(July 14) when firework display and a son et lumiere bring out all
the true glory of the Cité
