La Caunette - L'Eglise Notre-Dame de L'Assomption
Dates from the 11th century
The
last weeks of August have brightened with lovely clear
skies and that particular kind of light that attracts
artists, photographers, and lovers of the good life.
The lovely church at La Caunette, is blessed by the
neighboring vineyard with roses and grapes glowing ready
to be picked.
La Caunette is on the Minervois road to Minerve,- site of a Cathar tragedy, a pretty village
on the Cesse valley.
La Caunette boasts a fine restaurant and a bar/restaurant - La Cave and Cafe de la Place. September and October promise great
colours as well as a clarity of light that is great
for walking, and just viewing nature in all its glory.
