In amongst the relaxing views and hills of Correze, Limousin,
you find yourself in a different world where red houses predominate.
Driving through orchards of walnut trees, or through meadows,
with many a village with good sized houses and chateaux you
reach Collonges La Rouge.
One of the prettiest villages of
France. So its important to visit it off season
- as it can get packed from bus tours and the like.
Visit the
12 th century church where Catholics and Protestants shared
the same aisle!
Visit the market with the village oven that
would provide bread for the whole village.
This is great area
to explore in the Spring - May, June, or in the Autumn - or
practically anytime of the year - as there is always something
to spark and amuse the mind!
